Change in Printing Schedule to Synchronize Online and Print Journals (October 1, 2005)

Reviews of Modern Physics is synchronizing the online and print journal so that, beginning in January 2006, the quarterly print issues will contain all papers published online in a given quarter (i.e., 1 January - 31 March, 1 April - 30 June, etc.). Therefore, the first printed 2006 issue will be mailed near the end of April, not in January.

This rearrangement is necessary to avoid citation ambiguities currently caused when articles are published online at the end of one calendar year and appear in print journals dated with the next calendar year.

In the future, issues will be labeled by the quarter in which the articles are published online, rather than the month in which the print issue is distributed; for example, the first issue of the year will now be labeled "papers published January - March," and will be distributed a few weeks after the end of the quarter.

Print subscribers to Volumes 77 and 78 will receive four issues per volume as usual, though the Volume 78 issues will arrive on a later schedule.
